Pumpkin’s favorite place to stalk lizards was the woodpile out by the shed. He sat out there all day watching lizards and occasionally a mouse. He was a great hunter. Later in the day he would ascend to the very top of the woodpile and sun and sleep the afternoon away. You would of thought he was a mighty lion looking down from Pride Rock over his kingdom. But every night he’d come inside and curl up by the fire then make his bed at the foot of my bed and burrow in under layers of blankets for a warm cozy night’s sleep. He never complained and gave unconditional love. Yep, he was the best pumpkin I ever had, that’s what made it hard to cut him up and turn him into Randy, the best Jack-O-Lantern I ever had.
Wow. It's Quiet Here...
